Dining Table
For some unexplained reason, I decided to build a dining table. After obsessing over different types of brazilian wood – beautiful woods such as jacaranda, cedro, and mogno – I ended up reasoning that I did not want to contribute to more deforestation. So, I ventured out to find brazilian reclaimed wood. To my luck, my parents store a lot of wood in their attic. A lot of which they collected during years of house renovations and gatherings. The wood I picked was used to build a stage over our pool to celebrate my parent’s 25th Anniversary. Pine and jacaranda.
I had originally wanted to join the 6 boards to create a single top. Because of time constraints, I had to settle for 6 individual boards. I ended up cutting and building it in 3 days while vacationing in Brazil. I then packed everything and flew back to states with the dismantled table as a piece of checked baggage. No extra fees were paid.
